When asked what happened,
Kahuna responded, "Some kook, a real Barney,
dropped in on me on this perfect 8 foot peeling
take-off. I was there on the glassy face and I
made the drop, did a fade cutback under the lip, then
positioned myself for a tube cover-up and this guy drops
in on me and I eat it and the wave snapped my long board
in half. Where is that guy?"
Someone then informed
Kahuna it was one of his surfing school graduates...
Many surfers envy Kahuna,
as do many Mexican nationals: many Mexican workers try
and come into the US to work, but Kahuna has reversed
that trend. Kahuna goes to Mexico and works winters
giving surf lessons to resorts in Puerto Vallarta.
