Sea Ghost
Relentlessly
Roaming the Ocean

George and his wife, Fiona, are regular surfers at Beacon's. Fiona is from Australia, although I think she learned how to surf in California.
George is a 50+ year old psychiatrist. He has blondish hair, a medium length flowing beard, wears an earring on occasion, drives a fully outfitted Westfalia VW van and loves to surf.
When I first met George, his practice and their home were both in La Jolla. George and Fiona would drive up each weekend to surf Beacon's. Most of the time they wouldn't even drive by all the breaks you can see from 101. They would just catch I-5 and drive directly to Beacon's.
George and Fiona eventually, not only moved their residence to Leucadia, but his practice as well. They now live just a few blocks from Moonlight Beach and can see the whitewater from their window.
George also owns a large long board allowing him to sit deep in the lineup. Frequently, he will catch the outside sets. The inside grommets get a first hand
view of George on his 10'11" board flying down the face towards them, with his long hair and wet beard flapping in the wind. I always thought George looked like a cross between King Neptune and Zeus, and I told him that. But George told me he already had a nickname. He had heard that the grommets had nicknamed him "Sea Ghost."
