I'm just
getting into this surfing thing and it's so fun! I'm
from snow country so this whole water thing is kind
of new to me, but I think I might be able to get
used to it ;) I went kayaking for the first time the
other day, too. I may have to get one of those :)

So far, I would have to say it's a tie between
watching the dolphins play and the biolum. Having
only been to the Atlantic twice in my life,
everything is a new and exciting experience. Who
knows what I'll see tomorrow! :) |

Favorite part of Encinitas:
It wasn't until recently that I was introduced
to the Self Realization Fellowship garden (I think
that's what it's called--right?). It was so
beautiful! So, if there are any other little hidden
treasures that you would like to tell me about, that
would be great! I'm always up for a good adventure
:)What do you enjoy most about Beacons?
I really enjoy the atmosphere at Beacon's.
Everyone seems like they're out to enjoy themselves
and they seem pretty happy with life. And they
should be ;) Everyone is super friendly and
courteous and it makes it a real pleasure just to be
there.
Favorite local restaurant:
I love the Roxy for food.
Favorite film:
I enjoy movies that show a little "slice of
life" and not so much the "Hollywood" scene. I
suppose that would explain why I prefer foreign
films. Probably Amelie is one of my faves. But then
again, nothing can beat Monty Python :)
What makes a local?
Being a local is defined primarily by your
attitude towards life. Being able to appreciate the
little things in life, like admiring a beautiful
sunset, playing in the biolum, or searching for
constellations in the early morning sky whether
you're on a surfboard, running down neptune or just
out for a walk on the beach. Beacon's Beach,
Leucadia, and Encinitas are such beautiful places
and we are so fortunate to have them only a hop,
skip, and a jump away from our front doors. All in
all, I think a local is someone who really takes the
time to get to know the history and the people that
give these wonderful places their personalities. |
